We’re finishing our first full day here in Dusseldorf! Our
big news for the day is that Jeff’s suit bag arrived! So now he doesn’t have to
go to work looking like an American noob. Phew! Next big news, we’ve narrowed
down our apartment options from eight to two! We started the day getting
breakfast at a little bakery near our hotel then spent the rest of the day looking
for our new home and walking around our potential new neighborhood (in which they’re
setting up a small Christmas market!). We also survived our first trip to the
grocery store thanks to Jeff’s fancy Google translate app and attempted to have
our first conversations in German. Thankfully everyone so far has spoken back
to us in English… apparently, we look/sound like foreigners. J Tomorrow we’re
planning to take a closer look at the Rhine, walk around a big park we saw on
our apartment tour and check out downtown Dusseldorf. Who knows what else we
might stumble upon!
